NYX Resistance

SWOT Analysis

Through our SWOT analysis we discovered a number of interesting issues with respect to our business and the industry we plan on serving. From a strengths perspective given that we are the first company to offer this particular product, our Value Proposition was definitely one of our biggest strengths. Additionally, one of the strengths we've worked hard to pursue and maintain are our Key Partnerships. These being in the form of trainers, athletes, and manufacturers. Key Resources we also discovered to be a strength given the level of research and patents we look to implement, we are confident our product will be superior and remain superior.

Moving onto some of our companies weaknesses, probably one of our biggest weaknesses in the initial stage of our business will be our revenue stream. Over time we look to develop more products; however, initially we will only be supplying a single product that consumers won't be replacing immediately. Additionally, the time to develop new products requires time and significant R&D costs. Finally, our initial demand creation strategy could potentially alienate a number of consumer segments given our emphasis on high performance athletes.

From an opportunities perspective, NYX has a lot of room to grow. We already have several new ideas for new potential products that we plan on releasing shortly after our initial shirt hits the market. As for revenue, the opportunity to eventually branch out into boutiques and expand our channels is something we can definitely pursue in the future. Additionally we've discussed introducing a service side to our business in the form of training and personal development. This would result additional opportunity for improved customer relationships. Finally, as we grow the opportunity to purchase our materials in larger quantities will improve our cost structure and provide greater economies of scale.

As for threats that endanger our business, the biggest external threat it by far larger companies attempting to try and copy our technology and design. Secondly, our business is fairly dependent initially on strong partnerships with high level athletes, trainers, and sporting organizations. Losing these partnerships could be detrimental to our business model given our target market. Finally the last major area for concern is revenue sustainability (how long will consumers wear one of our shirts before purchasing a new one). The big question is can we offset our main product with other wear that is somewhat unrelated to our primary offering (sell athletic apparel and such).

Overall we are positioned quite well for a new venture in this particular industry. If we were without a first mover advantage and our product wasn't priced at a premium, our weaknesses and threats score would be significantly higher and our sustainability would be in question.
